Scarce contract signed by Muhammad Ali for his scheduled improvement fight against Joe Frazier, dubbed the "Fight of the Century." Single page "Understanding in principle" is signed in blue ink at the conclusion "Cassius Dirt" and countersigned by promoter Harold Conrad and a representative for Sports Activity Inc. who held media rights to the fight. Datelined fourteen October 1969 in New York, contract obligates Ali to fight 15 rounds with Frazier, to be held in Las Vegas in February 1970, with the status of Conrad securing a license for Ali to fight in Nevada (which of course delayed the fight until 1971). Agreement as well provides Ali with 40% of access revenue and 40% of internet proceeds from media rights. Contract is in near fine condition with a modest ship to the left margin and a crease to the upper left corner. Exceptional and rare, ideal for brandish. Sold for $seven,866.
Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier 1970 "Fight of the Century" Original Dual-Signed Contract
Muhammad Ali and rival Joe Frazier dual-signed World Heavyweight Boxing Title contract. Two-page contract is signed by both "Joe Frazier" and "Muhammad Ali aka Cassius Clay" for the tour between undefeated Ali and undefeated Frazier in the "Fight of the Century." This represents one of a scattering of attempts made at staging the much-predictable Fight of the Century before information technology finally came to fruition on 8 March 1971 at Madison Foursquare Garden. Ali, as a result of his conviction for typhoon evasion during the Vietnam War, was stripped of his World Heavyweight Championship title. In improver, his boxing license was revoked in about every U.S. land. As a result, the Ali-Frazier fight was initially planned in Toronto, Canada, simply the U.S. legal system wouldn't allow Ali, out on bond and appealing his conviction, to leave the state. Muhammad Ali certificate signed "Cassius Clay." Dirt signs a Screen Actors Guild contract dated 25 April 1963, shortly later appearing in "Requiem for a Heavyweight." A rider to a previous Screen Actors Guild agency contract for an undisclosed motion moving picture, with Clay hiring an agent "in the amusement industry." Signed at the close in bluish ballpoint, "Cassius Clay." Measures viii.5″ x 11″. Accompanied by PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity. Outstanding boxing collectible, a Muhammad Ali supplemental understanding signed, regarding terms for the upcoming "Fight of the Century" confronting Joe Frazier. Two-folio understanding, with handwritten pencil and bluish ink edits throughout, details promotions and dates the fight on 10 March 1970 in Houston, Texas. The fight ultimately took place 8 March 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York Metropolis, where Ali lost to Frazier. Reads in part: "…relating to the Clay [crossed out and replaced with "Ali"] — Frazier Bout scheduled to be held at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas on February sixteen 1970 [crossed out and replaced with "March x″]…no footage from any such motion moving picture flick will be used in a television receiver special, or otherwise, until 1 yr later on the Bout is held…" Signed "Muhammad Ali" with strike-through in pencil on signature, and his proper noun written again in pencil beneath the strike-through. Stapled document on two pages measures 8.5″ ten 11″, with a speckling of stains to page one and minor creasing to corners. Very expert status. Sold for $2,401.

Ten page contract binds Ali to fight Quarry in twelve rounds and grants Ali 35% of net gain from the fight. Muhammad Ali Contract Signed to Fight Either Leon Spinks, Alfio Righetti, Duane Bobick or Jerry Quarry in February 1978
Consummate 23 folio "Bout Agreement" signed by Muhammad Ali in black ink on the last page, obligating Ali to fight one of iv contenders to defend his title for the Earth Heavyweight Boxing Championship. The fight would ultimately be fought on 15 February 1978 confronting Leon Spinks, who took the title from Ali, breaking his fourteen fight win tape. Contract is dated 19 August 1977 and countersigned by Ali's manager, Herbert Muhammad and Robert Arum of Meridian Rank, Inc. Document measures 8.5″ 10 xi″ and is in near fine status. Sold for $i,300.
